The AR Live Show developed for Zee Kannada introduced a first-of-its-kind broadcast experience integrating augmented reality graphics with live human performance for one of the channel’s prime reality television shows.
The installation was designed to create a real-time augmented environment where virtual elements interact seamlessly with performers on stage, enabling dynamic visual storytelling during the live broadcast.
DB Productions engineered and deployed the system architecture required for the AR production environment, including camera tracking systems, media servers and AR graphics pipelines required for real-time rendering and stage integration.

AR Broadcast System and Installation Elements
The AR live show environment integrates advanced camera tracking technology with real-time AR rendering systems to synchronize virtual graphics with live stage performances.
The system architecture included three advanced camera tracking systems, enabling precise spatial tracking of broadcast cameras and allowing AR elements to remain correctly aligned with the live stage environment during filming.
Key system components included high-performance media servers, AR graphics rendering systems and stage mapping workflows to ensure seamless integration between physical stage elements and virtual graphics.
The project also involved the development of custom AR graphics content and full stage mapping, enabling the creation of immersive virtual elements that interact dynamically with performers and physical stage structures.
The final production created a state-of-the-art augmented reality broadcast environment, delivering a visually engaging experience for television audiences while maintaining the performance dynamics of a live stage show.
